"Our independent spirit lives in our work."

Mom & Pop’s new “baby” is a feature length documentary entitled EXTRA INNINGS. It is the story of The New York Statesmen, a traveling team of 60-plus year old men who compete at the “Major-Plus” level of senior softball. This is a diverse group of men from all walks of life with one thing in common – “the love of the game.”

Senior Softball is a phenomenon. “There are more than 1.5 million active senior softball players and that number is growing as baby boomers come into the market.” (Senior Softball USA website). The New York Statesmen are a perfect example of who these people are. As filmmakers, we feel that their story will appeal to an audience much larger than 1.5 million senior softball players. It is a story of the greatness of the human spirit, and it crosses the dividing lines of age, race, gender…speaking simply and directly to the heart.

pitcherT  his project has been a labor of love. We have shot two seasons and over 30 hours of footage, and now, as we approach the completion of the film we need sponsorship. We believe that your company would benefit from being attached to this project. How? Advertising. Your company name will be allied with EXTRA INNINGS on our website www.mompopfilms.com which will be visited by the men and women who are part of this phenomenon. Also your company name would be in the credits of the film when it appears in any number of venues.

This “love of the game” has kept the individuals who comprise The Statesmen fit, determined, mentally strong and yes, young – young in spirit and filled with the hope that the next game, the next tournament, the next season will be even better.

We look forward to hearing from you. Richard and Didi
